About Mountain Top Pepperoni Roll Company

 As a young girl, I watched my grandmother and my mother always bake fresh bread and pepperoni rolls. I was born and raised in West Virginia/South Western PA, , so learning the trade in making them was just something instilled in me. It was a go-to in our home.  It was a true family tradition.

So, much so that my Mom would sell her bread and pepperoni rolls to family and friends. I remember on the weekends I would help her in the kitchen and she would bake bread, pepperoni rolls and cookies and we had to go and deliver them. As all little girls do, I had so much admiration for her and what she could do in a kitchen.  

After I graduated high school,  I moved to California in late 1999,  I  quickly realized there were no pepperoni rolls to be found, I had not known before my move  that pepperoni rolls were a regional delicacy and the West Coast had never heard of them. I would go into stores and ask, “Do you guys sell pepperoni rolls?” and they absolutely looked at me like I was speaking another language. I quickly realized that my favorite snack was almost impossible to find. I was told by someone to look online and I was so happy when I was able to locate a company.

 So, I placed my first order and I was so disappointed when they arrived,  because the pepperoni rolls I received were not like my Mom's at all. These pepperoni rolls were all bread and just a little sliver of pepperoni. When my Mom and my grandmother would make their pepperoni rolls, they always said, keep them small and always equal bread to the pepperoni, she swore that was the secret to the flavor.

I began making my own pepperoni rolls, using Mom’s methods and recipe and soon began taking them to cookouts, birthday parties, and many other functions. People were experiencing pepperoni rolls for the first time and it brought such joy to their faces. After several years of living in California,  I moved back home to the area and discovered that many people were looking for what I had been, that fresh pepperoni roll taste and not pepperoni rolls of which you can buy locally at grocery stores or gas stations, the pepperoni rolls that were prepackaged definitely was not the definition of fresh pepperoni rolls. They always wished they could order customized pepperoni rolls, because you could not find that anywhere. After talking to friends and family I decided to bring Mountain Top Pepperoni Roll Company to life, fresh pepperoni rolls that are made to order. Customize it the way you want it and are made to order, that are not frozen or prepackaged, just fresh out of the oven and sent directly to you. So many people have moved away from the area and cannot find what I could not find in California, so that is how we started and we have continued growing. It is not just about making pepperoni rolls, but making memories that keep us all connected.
